APRIL FAVOURITES
We're back! Anyway, last month was super busy. After settling into uni, all the mid term assignments were due in like 1 week, with case studies and MST's to study for. I mean, i have an assignment due on Monday and I'm still procrastinating and i should probably be reading up on photosynthesis but whatever. Winter is coming and with the drier weather comes changed to my skin.
Oralife peppermint lip treatment
Dry, flaky lips are a definite problem that comes with this cooler weather and so I went to chemist warehouse and bought this lip treatment. We've got Vaseline at our house but I wanted something portable and flavoured because its a bit less boring. My mum or dad always seem to have a tube of this and I remember my mum used to smear some on my lips before bed when I was younger. It's super minty and tingly on your lips and its got a standard petroleum base. It's a bit hard coming out of the tube right now but it liquefies instantly on my finger tip and gives a really glossy shiny finish.
Lush Popcorn Lip Scrub
This is my first ever Lush product! I'm pretty lazy to DIY a sugar scrub myself, and also this is popcorn flavour! It tastes pretty good - salty and sweet at the same time. It's a pretty standard lip scrub I guess, and it gets rid of flaky lip skin perfectly so I've been using it a couple of times a week, specially when I want to wear a bolder lip.
Mac Rebel
Speaking of bold lips... This is my most recent makeup item and I love it! Bold lips are my favourite thing ever and this is a great colour for the coming months. I've never been much into purple lips - I've since chucked out Revlon Darling, although Pantone's colour of the year is tempting me to repurchase.. This looks a bit intimidating in the tube but applied it gives a more deep berry colour which I find to be really brightening on my skin, and it leaves a dark fuchsia stain once it's worn away.
Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage in SC-3
Also my first Laura Mercier product :] I've wanted this product for ages due to Lisa Eldridge naming this as one of her all time favourite products. After my skin breaking out ridiculously at the start f this year, I'm left with a lot of hyper-pigmentation that my regular Maybelline Fit Me concealer won't cover. I got this and have been using it everyday since. It had a bit of a learning curve, but the dry and waxy texture combined with the great pigmentation covers hyper-pigmentation perfectly and on lazy days I can just spot conceal and apply translucent powder - no need for any base!
Nivea Soft Moisturiser
I used to use this a couple of years ago and I still love it. It's got a thick texture but its easily blendable and very moisturising on my skin. I've been trying to keep my skin more moisturised recently since my skin has recently got a teensy bit less oily and veering towards dehydrated and dry after washing my face. I apply this in a liberal layer at night, mixed with a few drops of the Hada Labo Gokujyen hylauronic acid lotion or Sukin rose hip oil and my skin is perfectly plump the next morning.
Stay tuned for reviews on the Secret Camounflage concealer and Mac Rebel!
