Review: Benefit High Beam

I've had this bottle of High Beam for a while now - maybe a year or so? I was first drawn to it due to the HG status it seemed to have around the blogosphere, so I stole this unused bottle from my mum. It is pearly pink in colour and is a relatively liquid facial highlighter. It comes in a little nail polish style bottle which I think is quite cute. It retails for around $45 in Australia for the 13ml. A little goes a long way and you only need a tiny bit each time.

It is described as:
"... supermodel in a bottle! ... this pearlised pink highlighter is the make-up artists secret for a natural dewy glow on all skin tones. Use it as a spot highlighter or blend all over your complexion...the soft-focus sheen is enticing and sexy."

I use this in two ways - I'll either dab it onto my hand and apply it with my fingers or I'll mix it a drop of the highlighter with a drop of whatever base product I'm using and apply it like that. Applying it by itself gives a more full on radiant effect, while mixing it with something else gives it more of a lit-from-within glow.

It's a very natural, glowy effect which is great for people who want a more luminous dewy-looking base but maybe don't like the feel of dewy bases. That includes ones such as myself since I have oily skin. I'll usually apply it to my cupid's bow, my cheekbones, the inner corners of my eyes and above the arch of the eyebrow. I haven't used this product for a while now, but I guess this review will remind me how much I loved the effect that the highlighter gave. Overall, a very nice highlighter that can work on a variety of skin tones and can be used with minimal to full intesity to give different types of looks.
