I've wanted to get the sigma f80 or f82 for a long time, especially with the ongoing raves it gets from blogs and youtubers. This is an unsponsored post btw, as I know a lot of people who review these are part of some kind of loyalty program with sigma. I bought these brushes through www.redefiningbeauty.com.au which is an Australian retailer for sigma brushes while they were having a promotion. This set of four brushes costs $62 on the site right now.
F80 – Flat Kabuki: Ideal for all over application of liquid and cream formulas in large and mostly flat areas of the face, such as the forehead, temples and cheeks. This brush is perfect to seamlessly buff foundation onto the skin.
This brush was my most used for the first 6-8 months after I got the brushes,. As the description says, I find it is easiest to go over the flatter areas of my face with this, but it is a little tricky to manoeuvre over smaller areas such as around my nose and eyebrows. I mainly use this for foundation/bb cream but sometimes if it is clean with no product on it (ie. right after I've washed it) I'll use it for moisturiser instead. I usually don't wear powder foundation but if I do I will use this brush. It feels like i'm rubbing velvet all over my face its so soft and ridiculously dense, as all the other brushes are as well *0*
My favourite out of the set. The rounded shape allows me to be more precise when I buff out my foundation and the effect it gives is very seamless with no harsh edges. At first I had this brush reserved for powder foundation, but one day I used this brush instead of the F80 for bb cream and I haven't looked back since. This is now my most used brush out of all the makeup brushes I have.
F84 – Angled Kabuki: The angled shape of this brush eases the application and blending of cream blushes onto the cheeks. It can also be used to apply and blend contour shades on the hair line, cheek bones and jaw line.
This brush is not one I use often, but I love it for the shape. It is an angled kabuki but it's got a soft curve which I love the look of. At first I tried using it to apply contour in the hollows of my cheeks but I found the brush head a bit wide. I have also tried applying base products with it, but I find that because of it's shape, when i try to blend it across a surface the brushes tend to give way which makes me lose more product, but i still use it for that purpose anyway. I mainly use it for applying bronzer around the edges of my face or the blush.
F86 – Tapered Kabuki: The tapered shape effortlessly applies products on defined and hard to reach areas of the face. This brush is perfect for all over application of powder, cream and liquid formulas. It is also ideal for all over primer application, contouring and highlighting.
This is my least used brush. When I do, it is usually to do contours in the hollows of my cheek but I rarely ever do that. I've tried using it for foundation but i find that, like the F84, the tapered shape it seems to take in more product than the F80 and F82. It works really well to apply highlighter or bronzer in a pinch. I don't use it to apply foundation or bb cream.
